
CPR Level C

Courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. Courses meet legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards, and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Emergency First Aid

​Basic one-day course offering lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.
Standard First Aid

Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. *Can be offered Online / Blended requiring 1 day in class*
First Responder (Full and Refresher)

Comprehensive first aid and CPR skills for professional first responders or those training to become first responders. Course teaches the patient assessment model, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hemorrhage control, and care for a variety of acute and chronic conditions. Participants will be engaged in dynamic training techniques including video, media presentations, skills demonstrations, practice sessions, discussions and scenarios based on real-life situations.
Emergency Medical Responder

Participants will learn and demonstrate all knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate patient assessments, interventions, and on-going care, including the transportation of a patient to a healthcare facility. Course content may vary depending on jurisdictional requirements and, in addition, follows the National Occupational Competency Profiles (NOCP) as defined by the Paramedic Association of Canada. Participants will be engaged in dynamic training techniques including video, media presentations, skills demonstrations, practice sessions, discussions and scenarios based on real-life situations. *Lowest Level Required for BCEHS*
FR to EMR Bridge

Emergency Medical Responder Bridge courses are intensive, interactive and learner centered programs which prepare you and provide you with BC EMALB EMR Licensing eligibility. You will learn and practice a systematic but flexible approach to patient assessment, advanced medical interventions, pharmacology, and clinical decision making in a professional emergency medical response capacity.
The skills taught and principles introduced are nationally recognized for scientific, evidence-based credibility, with a strong emphasis on provincially relevant BCEHS Clinical Practice Guidelines and BC EMALB Licensing Exam requirements.
